From the Meridian School District 505 Facebook Page:
As many of you know this past weekend Meridian lost 1st grader Lucy Duersch, after a long battle with DIPG.
To honor her memory and continue to spread awareness about childhood cancer, the Meridian Athletic Department has decided to turn Friday night’s game in to a “Gold Out.”
Gold is the color that represents Childhood Cancer Awareness. We will also read a brief note about Lucy before the game kicks off and have a moment of silence.
Please help to spread the word about Friday Night’s “Gold Out.”
Lets Go Gold!
Meridian will be pre-selling tickets to Friday night’s MHS vs NVHS football game. Tickets will be available for Purchase Thursday September 28th and Friday September 29th from 8 am until 3:00 pm. The gate for Friday Night’s game opens at 5:30 pm.
We are anticipating a larger than normal crowd due to the record of both teams and the community events going on at Meridian that evening. These events include Meridian Mini-Cheer night and Stuff the Bus Food Drive in addition to getting our Gold Out” for childhood cancer.”
